2017 and new things

This year for my birthday, I bought myself a Gemini die cutting machine and it is fabulous!  The Gemini was on sale on HSN and since I couldn't buy it I got ahold of my brother and I was able to get one!    I also got a bunch of Crafter's Companion dies and mbossing folders with my machine.  Now I am all set to craft up a storm.  Crafter's Companion has some beautiful dies I can't wait to add to my collection of goodies.
I got a wonderful package from my friend in Germany.  Anne sent me some beautiful  washi tapes and pretty papers, some cute clips and stickers.  Martina added a birthday surprise for me as well and I got some beautiful pens and paper from her as well as two corner dies which are beautiful!

  The end of March I was introduced to Pocket Letter Pals and I got a little crazy with  this new trend.  I have mailed out more than I received back and now I am taking a break from it all.


   May 7, 8 and 9 I went to Novi, Michigan for the Great Lakes Mega Meet and it was fabulous.  I met some new people who are just wonderful and it was a great Mother's Day week-end.
  I have seen the Girlfriend stamps before but I got to see The Art Impressions stamps, dies and watercolor items as well.  Great products and super nice people.  Bonnie and Kate were demonstrating the water colors and it was fantastic to watch their wonderful work.  I also got to meet Phil and they are a great bunch.
  I got to see Stephanie Barnard from The Stamps of Life and all her great products.


   I didn't get to see my daughter this week-end for Mother's Day but I had a fabulous three days and I did get a phone call and some beautiful pictures from my daughter.

Update

I have not posted for a while because I have been having trouble with my desk top and I couldn't get anything to post here.  I am back today and I haven't even made many cards since my Big Kick is on pieces on my work surface.  I have been having a hard time turning the handle and even when I insert dies on an angle the machine is really acting like it is a speed bump.  I sent an email to Sizzix and I was told how to take it apart to see what is wrong.  There is nothing loose inside so now I am just waiting for Steve to put it back together for me.  As I type this out I am thinking I should just look at the pictures again and put it back together myself.  That is what I am going to do.


I have also been planning on going to the Novi Mega Meet in Michigan in May so I was looking on The Stamps of Life web-site and making a list of the dies, triplets, framelits and stamps I would like to get.

On Friday, my hubby and I went to Port Huron, MI to get some groceries and have a look around.  We got home later than expected but it was a good day.


On Monday, I went with my hubby for a drive to London and we stopped at United Grocery Store and picked up some vegies, fish and Ovaltine.  A good day for a drive and we got some good things at United.


Today I went to the post office to mail a card to my daughter and one for my grandson.  I stopped at the library to pick up a book I had requested and I went to No Frills to get some cocoa powder for a brownie mix I was making.  On the way home I stopped at Timmies to pick up coffee, dark roast for hubby and a French Vanilla for me.
For supper tonight I made a vegie stir-fry with some of the vegies we picked up yesterday.  It was delicious and I have vegies enough to make it again on Thursday maybe.
I am off to make a few more cards and I will post some more pictures tomorrow.  Have a great evening.

We had more snow last night and we had to shovel the driveway again.  The plows had been by and of course that meant the last few feet of snow was really heavy.

I tried making some cards today but I just couldn't seem to get the paper colors to match or to my eye at the time.  I definitely have to see about getting the card kit from The Stamps of Life.  Until I get a job I will have to work with what I have.

We had a lot of blowing snow last night and we were unable to get out of the drive.  We shoveled and a good Samaritan driving by stopped to see if he could help.  He had his snow blower in his mini van.  So thankful for such helpful people.

Computer

My laptop has died and I am sure it is cheaper to buy a new one, rather than fix this one.  The motherboard is fried (I spilt some juice on the keyboard quite a while ago) and it is an older laptop so I think a new one is in order.  Last night I moved my desktop from the basement up to my craft room.  I looks great one my desk and it is much warmer up here.  I have one problem and that is that my desktop is not wireless and this means I have no internet.  Weather is not good today so I have to wait until tomorrow to get a USB adapter.  For now I am using my hubbys laptop when he is not using his.

Since I don't have my own computer to use I have gotten my craft room into shape and it is easier to use my paper crafting things from The Stamps of Life.
